Has anyone done Tru Blue? I always liked that on the 2001 Bullitt Mustang. That said, there are a lot of great blues out there, and I’m fine if nobody else get Liquid Blue, simply to keep the total numbers from being even higher for that color. I think the designers feel Liquid Blue really compliments the GT’s lines and overall design, and they want to reserve it for the that model. I also like the fact that Ford isn’t offering the color on any other vehicles. It ranges from a highly-reflective, electric-like blue to a more muted, almost Wedgewood blue, depending on bright sunlight, overcast skies or indoor lighting. The best part of Liquid Blue is how many shades it offers, depending on the lighting conditions. Now that I’ve had it for over a year I have no regrets. HOWEVER - every time I went through the online GT configurator and switched from any other color to Liquid Blue I simply loved how it looked more than any other shade. I never like having a ”common” color, and with the ECP option on the new GT there’s no reason to have a common color. Factory repaint or special order paints may have the 4 digit paint code hand written on the radiator shroud with a wax pen.It was very difficult for me to go with Liquid Blue from the standpoint that it’s one of, if not THE, most popular color on the new GT. Other common color promotional names include Blue, Blue Lightning, and Pinto Blue. Many times it is coded on the factory build sheet which may have stayed with the vehicle after production and is sometimes for older vehicles, found under the interior carpet or rear seat. Paint code Ford M0470 M2J470 M20J470 - blue : This blue automotive paint color is most commonly known as Grabber Blue. For Ford, this longer 4 digit paint code is often not found printed anywhere on the vehicle. The same code ending in the letter "G" is common for interior paints and "D" for under the hood or engine compartment. OK, maybe there is, but here at Jalopnik, we’re big fans of Grabber Blue. Ford production paint codes starting with M are usually followed by a 4 digit number and the letter "A" indicating it is an exterior paint. Grabber Blue is the superior Mustang blue, and there’s no debating that. But, it's still a very light, fun, and eye-catching blue. It's a bit lighter and has more of a metallic sheen. However, this modern version of Grabber Blue is a bit different from the original. Ford did some 71 torino cobras with a richard petty special option also. Grabber Blue is one of the most iconic Mustang paint colors of all time, so it makes total sense to end the run of the S550 with this color available. These longer codes don't change over the years for a particular paint formulation therefore, it is the best code to track the usage of Ford paint. Yes Grabber Blue is a ford color it came out on the Boss 302 / Boss 429 mustang and the Eliminator cougar and probably a few others also.
